REVIEW EXCERPTS

“Camera Obscura is a fantastic piece written by Lorenzo DeStefano.
It is out of the ordinary in every way… creates an atmosphere of tense irresolution.”
THE OBSERVER, LONDON

“A fascinating play…Inman is a great tragicomic creation, his demeanor reminding you more of the flabby Wilde,
and his seductively low-key Southern drawl, of a Tennessee Williams faded belle.”
 THE INDEPENDENT, LONDON

“How do you compress the 17 million-word, 60-year diary of a housebound Bosyton hypochondriac into a night at the theatre?
Ask Jonathan Miller, who’s staging Lorenzo DeStefano’s “Camera Obscura”, at the Almeida.”
TIME OUT LONDON

“A deep and moving play… a disturbing exploration of illness, of health beliefs, and of the reactions of family, friends and professionals.”
BRITISH MEDICAL JOURNAL

“Producer/Writer Lorenzo DeStefano takes on the yeoman’s task of adapting the longest recorded diary in the English language.”  IMDb-PRO

“How did a housebound hypochondriac write a 17 million-word journal? And why has Lorenzo DeStefano turned it into a play? “
THE GUARDIAN, LONDON
